Comentario sobre el caso Gelman vs. Uruguay

En Accountabilityel boletín de noticias del International Criminal Law Interest Group de la American Society of Internacional Law (ASIL), fue publicado un comentario relativo a la Sentencia de 24 de febrero de 2011 de la Corte IDH dictada en el caso Gelman vs. Uruguay.  El comentario fue elaborado por Lisl Brunner, y lleva por título "Is Uruguay Foundering on the Path to Accountability? The Aftermath of the Gelman decision of the Inter-American Court".  Este es el párrafo inicial:


“In the wake of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights' first judgment regarding Uruguay, the quest for accountability in that country has been set back by the faltering resolve of the governing party and the Supreme Court. As a result of political maneuvering, the status of mechanisms to prosecute and punish perpetrators of crimes against humanity in Uruguay now appears less certain than it had been prior to the historic judgment.
